THE HOUSE IS COMPLETE!

We had orientation on Thurs. We closed on Fri. And, we're starting to move things in today! We are beyond excited about this house. It is perfect for us and our family. A big thank you to Ruthie for all of your help. We can't wait to have you up when we have furniture in!!

We have a busy week ahead of us. We will be moving all the small boxes and items we can in Sat., Sun., and Mon. The movers will be coming Tues. to move all of the furniture in and take it into the house. We are planning on spending our first night in the house on Fri. the 4th. It's going to be very bittersweet leaving the Walker's house. We really want to take our time settling in. Feel free to stop by and visit anytime!!

8-22-09 Applicances

They put on the corbles on the porch. The garage doors have caps on the top. The front door needs to be finished.

They sodded the back yard. You can see all of the straw they raked off at the top of the photo.

The top of the door was not sitting in the door jam properly. So, they sanded down the side of the door... but, now there's an 1/8" gap in the door. You can feel the air coming in! Hopefully they don't think they are done w/ that repair!

9-18-09 Home stretch

We are so close to completion! I'll be posting images from the last week. I'm hoping everything will be complete by the end of the week. I drove by this AM, and they have delivered the appliances. At this point, the "punch list" is all that needs to be done. Small repairs and touch ups. The landscaping has been put in, and the sod still has to be placed in the back yard as well.

8-10-09 Avery & Updates

We have had the MOST important edition to the house this week! Our baby Avery has joined the Folzenlogel clan. So, I've gotten a little behind on posting; hopefully having a baby is a good enough excuse!!

Dave sent us this email (Fri 8-7):

…Get the grade set on the lot…Landscaping is scheduled for the 17th…Finish grade will be done and sod right after…We will rake yard of large rocks trash so you should not feel the remaining ones…The grade in the rear will not change much from what it is now…Will do our best
…Get porch corbels installed
…Get gutters installed
…Finish brick at porch
…Get window head-sets installed Scheduled work for next week… …8-7…Carpet
…8-10…Interior trim punch
…8-11…Drywall touch ups
…8-13…Clean …Ceiling at entry was repaired…Texture needs to be finished…

Dave the construction manager sent us this email today (Mon 8-10):
…Our painter always put the final coat of paint on after the carpet is laid…The final product is much better
…No corbel against the home
The wrong size water heater was installed (50 gal instead of 70)…Office is still working on…I checked with my plumber to see if he had received revised p.o.’s as yet and he had not
…The ceiling repair was a stress crack
…I do not set the orientations…I should be making the master punch list late this week…If you want we can walk late next week
…Will have to check on the window issue
…You will have a very short window on the yard…Finish grading is done first and sod ect is right behind…As I said this is schedules for Monday…We are doing four lots in SAE this day…I need to get the rough grade first and I hope that is this week…That is the best time line I can give…

We have a mailbox!

Shower door and all faucets installed.

All of the shelving has been installed... there's a lot!!
The ceiling lights have been installed. This one is in the dining room/sitting room
They sided the house... we love the colors!!

8-1-09 Cabinets

The bifold doors went in the garage on the water closet. They are wood and slide very easily.

They installed the marble counter tops in the bathrooms.
The kitchen cabinets are in! They were supposed to be staggered at the top... but we decided we liked them straight across. We would actually loose some cabinet space if they did stagger them. We ordered 36" cabinets... and if they were staggered, every other one would be 30" and 36". So, we're not going to say anything... we're actually getting more space!

More cabinets... the fridge will be in the large opening on the left.
More cabinets... microwave in the middle of the top row, and stove in the middle of the bottom. My pots and pans drawer is on the right! Woohoo!

7-29-09 Doors & Trim

Construction Completion Date: 8-27-09!!!

The cabinets look great! The master bath and guest bath were installed. (this pic is of the master)
The trim was being put up around the windows.
The kitchen cabinets were unpacked and assembled... They will probably be installed tomorrow.

7-28-09 Driveway

Happy Birthday Mom & Eric!!

And the doors... but I'm a little confused... there aren't suposed to be any bifold doors in the house that I know of... yet another question for Dave.

I've never been so excited to see so many boxes! They are the cabinets. I would assume they will be installed today.

The bumpout on the drive looked great. It lined up great with the side of the house and end of the garage.

We really liked the curve on the drive by the garage.

7-27-09 Updates

...Drive being set to pour on Tuesday
...Cabinets and trim are scheduled to be delivered today
...Tuesday install cabs and trim
...Them we complete our first drywall touch-up's
...Then the painters move in
...Floorings and finishes start next week
...Siding will or should start in the next few days
...Will get the corbels ordered this week

They did mess up and install a gas line. They will be removing it back to the main.

7-21-2009 Brick Complete

We weren't able to get into the house, but the brick is complete! We are really happy w/ the color and look. Now for the siding!
